My Hematological "do-over" Day 0 and +1

It seems that with chemotherapy over with, that is should be the new title of my blog. I received my hematological "do-over" yesterday starting at 10 am. Over the next six hours I regained 4 bags of stem cells that I had harvested back in February. Four bags works out to six million stem cells per kg of body mass (I weight @ 88 Kg). Most people would think of a transplant as a huge climatic event, but the day pasted with me sleeping and the nurse and my parents enjoys in the pungent oder of the stem cell preservative (think garlic).

Sleep-a pretty uneventful way to end 11 months of cancer treatment.

Today I am one day old, my hematological system still in the process of being reborn. It is a long road home from here and just like an infant, I will have to crawl before I can walk...

Hi Darrel,

I've been following your progress and wishing you the very best. I too had an ASCT about one year for HD.

I linked your site to my blog. Can you do the same with yours. That'd be much appreciated.

I'll continue to watch your progress.

Best wishes,
Duane
